Odyssey Brasswind instruments were developed by Peter Pollard. Flute - A melodic instrument for the most part, the flute has a clear and bright sound with distinctive warmth, refinement, and subtlety to its tone. Odyssey recognizes the significant contribution that an instrument makes to the willingness of a student to persevere, practice, and pursue, the process of learning to control and master the instrument, enjoy making music and progress. Piccolo - The piccolo is half the size of a flute and plays the higher notes, with a range an octave above. The piccolo is a member of the flute family, but is a well known instrument in its own right. Whilst it may not be as popular as some of its sibling instruments, the piccolo is an enchanting instrument with an extremely distinct and beautiful sound. Clarinet - The clarinet is one of the most popular woodwind instruments for new players. It is affordable, portable and is used for many styles of music in orchestra, wind band and jazz. Oboe - Unlike with other wind instruments, there tends to be an excess of breath. Therefore, there is no handicap for people of a smaller stature. The structure of the keys is also more compact than that of the clarinet or the flute, and players do not need to press on the holes with their fingers directly, so there is no problem for people with small hands. French Horn - The brass family instruments produce their unique sound by the player buzzing their lips while blowing air through a cup or funnel shaper mouthpiece. The brass family can trace its ancestry back to herald French Horns. The Horn or French Horn consists of about 12 feet or narrow tubing wound into a circle. The player obtains different notes on the horn with a clear mellow sound by pressing valves with the left hand and moving the right hand inside of the bell. Scroll down to see our range below.

Other Horns - The Baritone Horn is a  low-pitched, valved brass instrument in Bb (one octave below the Bb trumpet), sounding similar to a trombone and most commonly played in brass bands.  The Tenor Horn (also known as the alto horn) is a popular brass instrument most commonly played in Brass Bands.  The tenor horn is the highest pitched instrument in the band that is played upright; they're designed like this so that the sound can blend before reaching the audience, a quality that is especially useful for accompaniment playing. Euphonium - The Euphonium is a versatile brass instrument and can often be found in brass bands, concert bands, and the classical orchestra. Because of its mellow tone, that sits between the horn and the tube, it is popular as a solo instrument.
